Location: Ponce, Puerto Rico
This week’s work for covering Tuesday’s 6.4 magnitude earthquake and the continuous aftershocks in the affected southern communities of Guánica, Guayanilla, and Ponce. Thank you to Brett Roegiers and the CNN Photo Desk for the opportunity to cover the critical moments the island is facing and to highlight the experiences of Tatiana, Nicole, and other women who shared their stories with me.
Persistent earthquakes put Puerto Rico on edge
Since December 28, Puerto Rico has been struck by more than 500 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2 or greater. Many Puerto Ricans are sleeping outside because they don’t feel safe in their homes.
